Getting Started on the New Site for Forum Members

Hi everyone, welcome to the new site!

This is a quick guide to getting started with the new site. Since the new site uses a different encryption key than the old site did to store your password, you will have to restore your account by requesting a new password.

Restoring Your Account

Click on the "Request New Password" link in the sidebar. On the following page, enter the user id you used to login with on the old site. This will email a new password to the email address you had on file with the old site. It sometimes takes up to 15 minutes to get the email, though it's usually instant.

Setting Up Your Account

Now that you can log in, click on the "My Account" link in the sidebar.

This will bring you to the public view of your profile. Your user picture, interests, hometown, and biography should have all been brought over from the old site. If they haven't, or if you would like to update them, click on the "Edit" tab at the top of your profile.

To change your user picture, scroll down the page until you see the picture section. Upload a photo from your computer by clicking on the "Browse" button and selecting a picture to upload.

To change your interests, biography, or hometown, click on the "Personal Information" link at the top of your profile editor page.

You should now be ready to rock. Enjoy the new site!
